Stop the clocks, Dreamland Margate is back! Upon arrival last year, I had yet to go visit the site.
That was all to change this past weekend when we headed down to the coast for a quick visit.
Before even getting into the site you can spot the Ferris wheel.
Getting there about 12pm the site was still quite quiet having only opened at 11am, some rides were not open for the day but they weren't ones we were too interested in. Before you even get outside you pass through the Emporium where you can buy some coastal goodies, and memorabilia to remember your day out. Then walk through the doors into a noisy arcade room, with cafes, roller room and traditional 2p machines as well as some pretty cool retro games.
Outside it was time to explore the rides, all spaced out there are some old classics (like the Rockets, Twister, Gallopers) as well as some newer looking bits like The Enterprise which looked like it would just make me sick. For smaller children there was traditional swing boats, double decker merry-go-round, dream cars where they can drive themselves around a little course. There are lots of places to grab food or a snack outside, with seating and next to the stage so you can enjoy some entertainment at the same time.
For Easter holidays Dreamland have a Hoist the Main Sail event, find hidden treasure, enrolled in mermaid school or learn to be an awesome pirate. As well as a petting zoo, fancy dressed competitions and Teddy and Betty's Nautical Adventure at 3pm daily.
This would make a lovely little day trip for young kids, or even those that want to revisit after remembering the good old days of the previous park.
